Mr. Wiegand has over 30 years of experience in commercial litigation, real estate transactions, incorporation and corporate management, business torts, partnership issues, insurance law, manufacturing and construction issues, business organizations, environmental and toxic torts, general business litigation, trial, mediation and arbitration.

He is fluent in Spanish and has been involved in numerous international matters, including representation of a broad range of companies and individuals in Mexico. As a result, he is familiar with international issues, including jurisdiction issues that arise from litigation involving foreign corporations and their subsidiaries. In addition to litigation, Mr. Wiegand's practice involves business risk assessment and counseling, contract negotiation, risk avoidance, as well as creating and adding value to business transactions.

His active trial practice includes litigation, arbitration and mediation in state and federal courts. He has handled a wide range of matters in dispute, including breach of contract, contracts induced by fraud, breach of partnership and fiduciary duties, commercial real estate and lease issues, employment matters, international engineering procurement and construction contracts, insurance law and insurance fraud, and covenants preventing competition by key corporate executives.

He has addressed numerous conferences on a variety of matters, including international comparative law and is a founding Director of the Texas-Mexico Bar Association. He is a former Director of the InterAmerican Chamber of Commerce, former Co-Chairman of the Houston-Monterrey Mexico Lawyers Exchange Program and former Director of the Houston-Venezuela Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Wiegand is actively involved in the San Antonio community and has served as President of the San Antonio Contemporary Art Center.
